MTN To Launch 5G In Cote d’Ivoire In 2024

MTN Cote D’Ivoire plans to launch 5G services in the country in January 2024. The company plans for the services to be available for the start of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Djibril Ouattara, Managing Director of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, says that the company has already deployed several 5G sites in Abidjan and in the interior of the country. 

By The Numbers

Currently, MTN Cote d’Ivoire is the second-biggest player in the country with 34.3% of the mobile market. Orange has 43.8% market share and Moov has 21.9%.

The Bigger Picture

According to an GSM Intelligence report, 30 African countries plan to launch 5G services in 2023.
