The Finance Bill 2024, a critical piece of legislation, is designed to overhaul the country’s tax system, aiming to increase revenue collections to support the government’s budget for the fiscal year 2024/25.

However, the bill was met with stiff opposition from various sectors of the Kenyan society, who argue that many of the proposed tax measures are punitive and could exacerbate the economic burden on the populace.
