Starlink has added a new Residential Lite service plan in select markets. The new plan offers unlimited internet access with reduced speeds, targeting users who seek a cost-effective alternative to the full Residential package.

Details

According to Starlink, the new “Residential Lite” plan is designed for Personal, Family, or Household-use at a fixed, land-based location.

Users will have an unlimited amount of deprioritized data each month with no long-term contracts or commitments.

This service plan will be deprioritized compared to Residential Service during peak hours. This means that speeds may be slower for Residential Lite Service relative to Residential Service when our network has the most users online.

Details about Residential Lite Plan

  • There are no data caps and no speed caps
  • Speeds should range from 50 – 100 Mbps (as compared to 150 – 250 Mbps for the Residential service plan)
  • Users may upgrade to “Residential” Starlink service at any time
  • Mobility (in-motion) or Maritime (ocean) use is not allowed
  • Pause Service feature is not supported
  • Ability to opt-in to purchase Priority or Mobile Priority Data is not supported
