According to reports, Ghanaian content creators on Facebook can now participate in the platform’s monetisation program.

On June 27th, 2024, content creators in Nigeria will included in a policy change which enabled which grants them monetisation access to Facebook and Instagram.
The policy appears to have also included Ghanaian content creators to earn advertising revenue from those platforms.

Before the policy change, Ghanaian creators faced the challenge of monetisation ineligibility due to geographical restrictions.
Now, with the barriers lifted, creators can monetise their content through various channels such as in-stream ads, live ads, and ads on reels.

Ghanaian content creators who are eligible for advertising revenue can set up their payout accounts through their Meta Business accounts to receive payouts from advertising.
Between The Lines
In April this year, the Ghanaian government proposed taxing content creation to tap into the revenue generated from online platforms including Facebook. The policy has not fully kicked in but it’s expected to be rolled out before the year ends.
