Today, we celebrate our 5th-year anniversary at Tech Nova GH.
It’s been a long journey but we’re glad we’re still here, publishing and researching stories for our audience. When we started, we were focused on writing on every tech-based. Gadgets, software, apps etc…we wanted to cover that.
Over time, we focused more on the tech ecosystem which included startups, fundraising, and policies that affected the ecosystem in general.
With 4.0, we’ll be looking at doing more stories on the tech ecosystem but also focused on writing more stories on how tech affects the general population. It’s a bit of full circle for us as we focus on both the business/ecosystem side and the “human” element of the tech world.
New Changes
With Tech Nova 4.0, we’re making some changes “under the hood” on how we operate. We’ve been mostly focused on publishing stories and running Google ads on my website.
But going forward, there will be a slight change. We’ll be introducing a subscription model.
What exactly does this mean? We’ll still be publishing general news stories which will be freely available to the audience.
But we’ll be having select stories which will only be available to registered and paid members.
The subscription market for news is not as big, especially for digital news but it’s something we want to experiment with and we think the subscription model has a future.
Another alternative was to propose a crowdfunding measure but it’s early days and we want to experiment with subscriptions for the future.
There will also be a slight design change to our homepage design in the coming months.
Data has become very important to us and we’ll soon be adding a data portal that is focused on the Ghana tech ecosystem. It will also be a pay-to-access model.
Those are the new changes that are coming up for Tech Nova 4.0. If it’s sustainable, we hope to keep delivering you news for the foreseeable future.
