Majority of Ghanaian Airports Generated Less Than GHC 14 Million

The Kumasi airport recorded only GHC 8.2 million in revenue but had GHC 15 million in expenditure

According to a 2022 report by Ghana’s Auditor General, most airports in Ghana are currently not profitable, with most spending more than they’re bringing in.

The Kumasi airport recorded GHC 15.68 million in expenditure but recorded GHC 8.22 million in revenue.

The airport in Ho revenue no revenue at all despite spending GHC 1.38 million in expenditure in 2022.

Digging Deeper

In 2022, Ghana recorded its highest number of domestic travelers with 850,000 passengers, an increase from 772,000 in 2021.
