Google Working On A “ChatGPT”-Style HomePage

1 Min Read

In a report by CNBC, Google is working on a “ChatGPT”-style page in response to the emergence and popularity of ChatGPT.

According to the news site, Google is testing an AI Chatbot called “Apprentice Bard” which offers responses to questions using natural language similar to ChatGPT.

The bot is being built using Google’s LaMDA technology (or Language Model for Dialogue Applications).

The bot is said to have some advantages over ChatGPT including the ability to respond to queries about recent events. ChatGPT is currently limited to events after 2021.

CNBC says Google is testing alternate versions of its home page, with one version replacing the “I’m feeling lucky” button with prompts for potential questions.

There is currently no timeline for when Google will launch its alternate homepage.
