Instagram’s New Tool Will Help Hacked Users Get Access Back To Their Accounts

Instagram today announced a new way for hacked users on their platform to regain their accounts.

The company announced “instagram.com/hacked“, a new feature for reporting and trying to resolve account access problems.

Using the tool, users will be able to ask for help recovering hacked accounts, report impersonation accounts, or get help if they’ve forgotten their passwords.

Instagram says it’s working on ways to stop account hacking before it happens, including sending warnings about suspicious accounts that could be impersonating someone else.

The company also stated that it would showing the blue verified badge for verified accounts in more places across Instagram to help quickly determine whether the account users are interacting with is authentic. The badge will now be shown in Stories. It will roll out the feature for DMs and the Instagram Feed later..
