The Logistics Marketplace, a first-of-its-kind digital platform built to centralize logistics procurement and provider discovery, has officially launched.
Designed to support health and humanitarian supply chains in Africa and underserved regions, the platform promises to reduce long-standing inefficiencies in finding and contracting logistics partners.
Why it matters
Fragmented logistics systems have long hindered timely delivery of critical health and humanitarian goods. The Logistics Marketplace addresses these challenges by giving buyers real-time visibility into available service providers, and helping logistics companies gain exposure to new opportunities.
“In too many low- and middle-income countries, it’s not a lack of infrastructure that slows the movement of life-saving products — it’s the difficulty of finding the right logistics partners,” said Scott Dubin, founder of Logistics Marketplace and a supply chain advisor at The Global Fund.
How it works
The platform, powered by Logixity, operates as an open-access Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool that brings together:
- Buyers (governments, NGOs, manufacturers) to source and manage logistics partners.
- Providers (transporters, warehouse operators, cold chain specialists) to showcase their services and respond to tenders.
- Hybrid users (coming soon) such as freight forwarders and 3PLs, who both source and offer logistics services.
Key features:
- Centralized provider discovery and tendering
- Transparent, searchable marketplace of logistics companies
- Mobile-friendly interface and rapid onboarding
- Company profiles, user ratings, and secure engagement tools
The big picture:
Health and humanitarian supply chains are being pushed to deliver more under increasingly complex conditions. Platforms like Logistics Marketplace are emerging as critical digital infrastructure, enabling smarter procurement, increased competition, and better delivery outcomes.
“This is exactly the kind of solution health supply chains have needed for years,” said Lantos Pin, a health logistics expert. “It introduces a globally accessible, logistics-native tool that saves time and money while promoting transparency.”
What’s next:
The platform is available now to eligible buyers and providers via www.logisticsmarketplace.health. Hybrid capabilities for organizations that both deliver and procure logistics services are expected to roll out soon.
