MTN Has 29 Million Registered SIM Cards in Ghana

Ghana has a total 39.9 Million Registered SIM cards

According to data from Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA), MTN Ghana has 29.87 million registered SIM cards with a total of 39.9 million total SIM cards registered in the country.

Background

The NCA completed the mass SIM Registration Exercise in May 2023. The primary objective of this national initiative was to establish a SIM database with integrity.

As of 14th June 2024, the total number of active registered SIMs (defined by the International Telecommunications Union as SIMs that are active within a 90-day period) in Ghana, as reported from the Central SIM Register, was 39,941,127.
