Yesterday, the Tech In Ghana conference officially concluded its two day event at the Accra Digital Centre. Since launching in 2017, Tech in Ghana has attracted some of the biggest multinational brands in the world, alongside the region’s decision makers, investors, fastest-growing scale-ups and founders.
This event was the platform’s 10th edition including it’s Tech In Ghana UK events.
Tech Nova were there to cover the two day event. Here’s some recaps from the event:
Day 1
The first day featured a welcome keynote address from David Ofori from the Accra Digital Centre.
There was also a keynote address from the current British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson.
From then on, there were presentations from Kingsley Abrowah from Kudigo and Kenechi Okeleke from GSMA Intelligence who gave a presentation about mobile data in Africa including the adoption of 5G in Ghana.
Julian Owusu, CEO and co-founder of Zuberi shared his story on stage on how he went from playing professional football to co-founding an earned wage startup called Zuberi.
Panel Sessions
The rest of the day was spent dedicated to panel sessions. There was a panel session focused on fintech which had speakers includng Adoma Owusu from Visa Ghana, Chioma Agogo from M-Kopa and Abdul Hussein from Affinity.
Other panel sessions included a session on policies for startups and investments in emerging markets which included Florence Toffa from Mobile Web Ghana.
Before a break in proceedings, there was a final panel on investments in emerging markets which included panelists like Shirley Somuah from CardinalStone Capital Advisors and Tayo Oyegunle from Moove.

After a break in proceedings, there were more presentations including one from Cecil Senna Nutakor on how his ed-tech platform e-Campus ventured into francophone Africa.
Afterwards, there was an address from Russ Shaw from Global Tech Advocates & Tech London Advocates who officially launched the Ghana Tech Advocates group.
The final panel of the day was on how to position Ghana for export and it featured panlists including Samar Shams from Samar Shams Immigration and Cecil Senna Nutakor from eCampus.

Day 2
The second day started with a panel discussion on the past, present and future in tech with moderator Lexis Bill and panelists including Doreen Sena from GIZ GH and Solomon Osei from MTN aYo.
There were back to back presentations from Benedicta Naa Odarkor Ablateye from Solar Taxi and its journey to build a green Ghana and Aparna Mishra from ECOM about leveraging tech and finance to help farmers in rural Ghana.
After the presentations, there was a panel session on the role of hubs and incubators in the tech ecosystem in Ghana and it included panelists including Fatima Tambajang from NVIDIA and Melissa Nsiah from MEST Africa.
The panel sessions continued with presentations from reps from different property technology companies in Ghana and Africa including Seso Global and Estate Intel.
Lastly, there were the final panel sessions including one discussing eSports and Gaming in Africa, Crypto & Web 3 Sector in Ghana and the gig economy
Apart from panel discussions and speaker presentations, there were stands and booths including VR startup Dobiison, eCampus, IPMC, Tap Tap Send and Bisa Health.
