Twitter Plans To Roll Out First Version of Encrypted Direct Messages

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

Elon Musk has announced via a tweet Twitter will be releasing encrypted DMs V1.0.

This feature ensures that all direct messages are end-to-end encrypted, meaning that they can only be accessed by the sender and the recipient. Even if someone tried to hack into the system, they wouldn’t be able to see the messages.

Elon has stated that the encrypted DMs feature will continue to evolve and become more sophisticated. The goal is to make it virtually impossible for anyone, including the app developers themselves, to access users’ DMs.

Furthermore, the app has plans to add voice and video chat in the near future. This will allow users to communicate with people all over the world without revealing their phone number.

This feature will be particularly helpful for people who want to maintain their privacy while staying connected with friends, family, and colleagues.
