A new version of Twitter for iOS was released today and it includes the initial launch of the new Twitter Blue subscription.
Currently, the Twitter Blue subscription gives the ability to subscribers to get verified with a “blue check” after signing up.
Other updates which will follow are:
- Half as many ads
- Post longer videos: You’ll finally be able to post longer videos to Twitter.
- Priority ranking for quality content: content will get priority ranking in replies, mentions, and search
Limitations
At the moment, Twitter Blue subscriptions with verification is currently only available on iOS in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
There’s no word on if this will roll out to other places like Africa or Asia.
