Details

On its support page, the company states that Starlink Kits activated outside of the region they were originally sold in are subject to an “Outside Region Fee”.

Users who purchase a Starlink Kit from an unauthorized reseller will be hit with the Outside Region Fee. The fees may total up to an extra $300 and will be applied upon activation of a Starlink account.

Digging Deeper

Starlink urges prospective customers to purchase from an authorized channel, including Starlink.com or from an authorized retailer within their region.

Why This Matters

The new policy is in place to stop resellers from buying dishes in one region — where the hardware is cheaper — and selling them in another.
