Upcoming Event: Design Thinking Ghana Conference

Are you a designer? Web developer? Entrepreneur? Business person?

Well, you’re probably one of the above or just a person interested in new concepts. If so, then you might be interested in the upcoming Design Thinking Conference being organized by Design Thinking Ghana on Friday, May 19th.

Design Thinking is one of hottest trends in the design space and in startups and businesses. Most companies use design thinking when trying to evolve or improve the products that they offer to their users.

The Design Thinking Ghana Conference (DTGC) is being facilitated by the minds behind the Design Thinking Meetup group. Some of the members of the group include individuals in the design thinking space: Dr. Gordon Adomdza (Ashesi University) and Dela Kumahor (Partner and Chief Design Officer – The Cobalt Partner)

The conference aims at understanding and discovering Design Thinking work in the Ghanaian community by first focusing on how the practice is being used to solve challenges in various fields, then going on to understand how others were using it to enrich their business value propositions.

There will be various speakers including Arne Van Oosterom (Founder, and Senior Partner of Design Thinkers Studio, Group and Academy). Other speakers include Ashwin Ravichandran (General Manager at MEST), Yaa Cuguano (Product Manager at MPharma), Freda Yawson (Snr. Programs Manager: African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) Founder – Innovate Ghana) and many others.

There will be workshops on various themes including new product ideation and prototyping, user interaction design, business model development, and entrepreneurship.

The conference is on Friday, May 19th, at the CEIBS campus in East Legon. If you’re interested in attending, you can buy tickets here.
