iStream and Teledata ICT are working on an interesting concept which I think could have beneficial consequences if this project is well funded and expands.
Traffic Ghana Live (traffic.com.gh) is a website which provides live traffic video and offers easy access to a growing number of traffic cameras throughout Ghana.

As of now, the live camera feeds are limited to 6 locations namely:
- Giffard – Burma Camp Road
- Oxford Street (Osu)
- Airport By-Pass Road (Airport City)
- Harbour Road, Motorway Round About (Tema)
- Tetteh Quarshie Interchange
- Samsung Ring Road Central
Radio stations could make use of these cameras to broadcast live traffic updates and even provide accident information. Even normal users can provide updates as well.
The driving public can avoid congestion and plan their road trips with the help of free live traffic cameras, weather, local roadworks and accidents information.
Sponsor A Traffic Camera
There’s no indication of what the partnership between iStream and Teledata ICT is but, there is a “Sponsor A Traffic Cam” section on the website. Perhaps brands or businesses can help expand the use of traffic cameras around the city in exchange for brand promotion or other services.
This is a very interesting concept. Hopefully, this little project expands into something bigger.
Perhaps identify traffic offenders? Track missing persons?
The possibilities are endless.
