Blackberry has officially announced the closing of its Blackberry Messenger consumer service. on 31st May 2019.

More popularly known as BBM, it was a service which was very popular with users of Blackberry devices. But with the launch of the iPhone which gave way to features like iMessage, many Blackberry users eventually made the switch to the Apple device.

Blackberry attempted to keep the BBM brand going with the launch of BBM on Android devices but it may have been a little too late.

Users can keep using the enterprise version of the app, called BBMe. Users can download this version on Android and iOS but there is a $2.50 subscription for every six months.
