Bloombar Tops Most Visited Destination In Uber’s Travel Trends In 2021

Uber has released its Uber’s Year In Review – a look back over the year where riders traveled and so much more.

With the rollout of vaccines and relaxing of some restrictions over the course of the year, international travel became an option again for many. Uber also saw an increase in the number of people commuting into offices and places of work again.

Here are some of our key travel trends in 2021:

  • Local sightseeing: In Ghana, Bloom Bar was the most visited destination with over 99,000 trips this year.
  • From Los Angeles to West Africa, people around the world love to use Uber when travelling. People from the US, Mexico and the UK ordered the most Ubers when abroad with an uplift in tourism in Ghana as airport trips have increased.
  • The moving city: Riders in Accra have requested 4,934,340 trips with an impressive average rider rating of 4.8, while Kumasi has 115,005 requested trips with an average rider rating of 4.7
  • The year’s #1 rider and driver:  An Uber rider in Accra topped the charts in Ghana with an impressive 1,170 trips this year.
  • In the driver’s seat: While 2021 was a challenging year, the Uber platform was a great bridge to sustainable earnings with one driver clocking in over 6000 trips in Accra this year alone.
  • Generosity rocks: Despite all adversity, the Uber was more thankful than ever this year. Around the world, the number of customers who tipped increased by more than 59% compared with last year.
