This comes on the heels on recent developments in which Uber driver partners have been complaining about the 25% commission fee and the rising costs of fuel in Ghana.

Commenting on the partnership with Uber, Mr. Abdul-Rahim Siddique, Sales and Marketing Manager of Total Petroleum Ghana Limited said: “Total has over 245 service stations in Ghana – including Accra and Kumasi – and a stellar history of providing value to our customers over the last couple of decades. We partnered with Uber in Ghana because we want to bring that same value to Uber driver-partners by providing discounts on fuel and  Lubricants purchases, as well as other benefits, all aimed at optimising their vehicle maintenance costs” he added.

Shedding light on the modalities for accessing the discounts, Lola Kassim said: “Driver-partners are encouraged to go to the Uber Greenlight Hub to collect their initial fuel cards for free. With these cards, driver-partners attract a discount on every purchase of fuel and lubricants at any Total Station across Ghana, receive quarterly rewards for achieving set targets, and also benefit from additional rewards as may be introduced by Total from time to time.”
