The COVID19 pandemic had a huge effect on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana. To help, the Ghana Government set up a GHC 600 million stimulus package in May whereby businesses had to apply online via an online portal.
GhIPSS Officially Launches GhQR and Proxy Pay Platform
In March, the current Ghana Government officially launch its universal QR Payment platform called “GhQR”. The solution allows Ghanaian users to make payments by scanning a unique QR code and making a direct payment to a merchant. Merchants who offer the GhQR solution will receive payments instantly.
Bolt Launches A More Affordable Ride-Hailing Option Called “Bolt Lite”
Bolt (formally Taxify), launched its new ride option called “Bolt-Lite” in Accra. The Bolt Lite feature is 15% cheaper and offers customers the opportunity to pay less for their trips. The Bolt Lite ride option is available to users at all times except from 8 pm to 12 midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday.
Uber’s Delivery Feature, “Uber Connect”, Is Now Available In Accra And Kumasi
In June, Uber Connect is officially launched its contactless delivery service in Accra and Kumasi.
Uber Connect allows users to send packages to family and friends.
The Rise And Fall Of RLG
