The convergence of media and platforms: We still tend to speak in terms that social media, TV, video are seen as separate types of consumption platforms, though soon it will all practically be the same in essence. For example, though YouTube is considered a video platform, its ability to notify and allow comments and response is really social media. Instagram allows short form videos, it’s not just a social media platform, it’s a video network in a sense. Facebook, will soon launch full-length video shows for consumption, in theory, it will be a virtual cable network. This is allowing creativity for all types of content consumption and habits. It’s requiring all of us to approach how we are communicating to end users in very creative and different ways. The one key fact is still, content (written or video) is king. How we create it, integrate it, is just part of the process of delivery.
