In an email announcement to users, Uber has started rolling out the ability to add teens to family accounts via the Uber app.

Details

The Teen Account is designed for users aged 13 to 17, allowing them to request rides via the Uber app. Guardians can create a teen account, linking it to their Family Profile, which enables them to receive notifications and live updates for every ride requested by their teen.

Teen who are added to the app will always be matched with experienced, highly-rated drivers on every trip.

Digging Deeper

Real-time alerts and live trip tracking are integral components of the Teen Account, ensuring that parents can follow their teen’s journey from start to finish.

Drivers are informed when they are transporting a teen, and while direct contact with the teen is limited, guardians can communicate with the driver if necessary.
